Description

"Of bright steel, finely etched with panels radiating from the centre, alternated by medallion panels with equestrian subjects, the border is further enriched with medallion portraits and panels containing grotesque animals and Romanesque trophies.

Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Morgan S. Williams Sale at Christie, Manson & Woods, April 26 - 28, 1921 for $598.72; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., December 30, 1943 for $198."
