Description

With reinforcing pieces for the tilt yard, of bright steel decorated with etched bands of floral pattern introducing trophies of arms, winged chimerical figures and Armorini, bordered with a triangular pattern; the suit consists of an armet with reinforcing pieces attached to its visor, gorget, breast-plate of peascod shape with hinged lance rest, tassets laminated, the ones for the left thigh being of two plates only, cuisses and jambs, the arm defences consist of pauldrons, rare and vambraces and bell-cuffed gauntlets; the reinforcing pieces for the tilt consist of an armet with heavy mentionniere, with guichet, grand guard and elbow-guard; all the borders of the suit have the serrated edge characteristic of armour made by the armourer of Augsburg for the court of Spain in the 16th century.
