Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Brummer Galleries, Inc., New York, February 24, 1936 for $2,400; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc. $843; purchased by Henry Schnakenberg, 1941; gift from Schnakenberg to the Robert Hull Fleming Museum of Art, accession # 1941.9.
