Description
Engraved with pieces of armour framed by a network of interlaced ornament "reserved" in bright steel upon a gilt ground. On the high comb, within an oval medallion, a full length figure in classical armour. The crescent-like brim engraved with gilt acanthus leaves. This helmet retains its cheek-bands.
Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Arnold Seligmann, Rey & Co., Inc., April 24, 1924.
