Description

"The barrel bearing the maker's mark S.S. within a shield. The lock with sliding pan cover, the entire stock decorated in a magnificent manner showing congested groups of figures and animals of a sporting nature, depicted in the Breugel style; steel fingered trigger-guard. Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Sotheby & Co., London, June 20, 1929 for $102.19; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., March 31 1941 for $49."
