"This arquebus is decorated with animals in ivory, of various kinds, inlaid throughout the stock, separated with running foliage, and flower designs. The ramrod is missing. Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Brummer Gallery, Inc., March 2, 1927 for $319; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., January 31, 1942 for $98.50."
