The exhibit showcases original artist’s books, altered books, collages, prints, baskets, and handmade jewelry as well as some examples of sculptural works of cast wax and plaster. Dr. Woo is primarily a self-taught artist, taking basic techniques into diverse directions through experimentation. Some of the collages and artist books utilize handmade paper by the artist. An interest in baskets was inspired by a visit to an origami artist. The wire collages were a result of playing with colored wire and collage elements. Many of the prints were the result of playing with monoprint techniques and an etching press. The jewelry pieces emerged from experimentation with her extensive collection of beads, including seed beads and Japanese delica beads, and with silver metal clay.
