Description
Symbolic of Autumn and depicting in the center amongst the clouds, Diana and Bacchus holding a wreath. To the left, the Chateau de St. Germain on the Seine. The tapestries are enclosed in wide borders at the sides, containing in the center medallion enclosing ciphers or device of Louis XIV, two interlacing Ls. One of four tapesties, part of a set representing the seasons.Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from French & Company, Inc., July 21, 1930.
