"Barrel and lock almost covered with very fine damescening in silver in relief and carved. Walnut stock, carved in low relief and inlaid with silver scrolls. The wheel cover is decorated with the Austrian double headed eagle. From the Magniac Collection and the Zschille Collection. Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Sam Austin Sale, through American Art Association, April 26, 1917 for $626; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., May 26, 1941 for $298.50."
