Description

"The walnut-wood stock richly inlaid with engraved ivory and mother-of-pearl; the octagonal section barrel, with rifle-bore blued and enriched with a pointelle-pattern, and inlaid with silver, measures 28 3/4 inches; the lock-plate similarly enriched, bordered with gold, with trigger-guard ensuite. From the Beardmore Collection. Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Christie, Manson & Woods, through Duveen Bros., London, England, January 23, 1922 $1052.44; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., February 30 1943 for $399."
