"On the barrel is the signature of Lazzarino Cominazzo, the most famous Italian gunsmith of his day. All the mounts are of chased and perforated steel of lace-like delicacy. Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Arnold Seligmann, Rey & Co. Inc., April 24, 1924 for $841; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., May 30, 1943 for 166. "
