Description
Crucifixion scene, Mary the mother of Jesus is dressed in red with a dark blue mantle; Saint John the Evangelist, wears gray-blue and a pink cloak. Mary Magdalene, kneeling and clutching the cross, is cloaked in a red dress is holding onto the cross.
Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst through A. Seligmann, Rey & Company from the Ludwig Behr Sale, Munich, June 29, 1933 for $288; sold at Gimbel Bros. Inc. 1941 for $361.
