Description
Of the last half of the sixteenth century, the surface enriched with bands etched with an interlace pattern upon a granulated gold ground, the design being emphasized in black with white dots and filets; upon either side of the ventail is etched a monogram, presumably that of the Duke Medina Coeli, and surmounted by a coronet.
Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from the Meyrick Sale, through Christie, Manson & Woods, February 21, 1922.
