Description

"With pronounced tapul, roped and gussets. The surface is beautifully etched with panels containing rampant lions and scroll ornaments, the centre panel embellished with a female figure, above which is inscription: ""PACENTIA."" Upon the sinister breast is etched a representation of the crucifixion with a kneeling knight.

Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Meyrick Sale, through Christie, Manson & Woods, London, England, February 21, 1922 for $1,495.20; sold to Gimbel Bros., Inc., June 30, 1943 for $424."
