Description
"Perforated and engraved with the two-headed eagle of the German Empire and the lion of Saxony. Such muzzle-pieces were often worn with horse-armor to complete the chamfron (often covering only a part of the horse's face).

Provenance: Purchased by William Randolph Hearst from Arnold Seligmann, Rey & Co., Inc., April 24, 1924 for $800."
